Disneyland Paris: Magic Everywhere!

Best Blogger Tips
April 12, 2012 marked Disneyland Paris' 20th anniversary.  Last month, my Disney dream came true.  At one point in our lives, Disneyland was on top of our dream destinations list.  I remember getting really envious with my classmates who spent summer breaks in Hong Kong tapos pagbalik sa school nonstop ang mga kwentong Disneyland.  I don't even have a passport that time, how am I suppose to fly to Hong Kong?!  Slowly my dreams of reaching Disneyland came to a blur.  Never thought about it again until I had a daughter of my own.  I think it was last year that Kaya started bugging me about going to Disneyland.  After our Singapore trip (in which she had the time of her life at the Universal Studios) she became fond of theme parks.

In all honesty I was really saddened by the fact that the Disneyland tour was included in our Europe trip package.  All I wanted on my first Disney adventure was to be with my daughter, I wouldn't want it any other way.  Yet I didn't have much of a choice during our trip, so okay I went with my friends.  It was raining that day, as I looked up to the dreary sky my heart was filled with anguish.  It felt more depressing as I saw a lot of kids by the entrance.  It felt like it wasn't fair.  Kaya should have been there.  I tried so hard to push the idea from my head.  There was no point thinking about it.  I am there and she's not, there's nothing I can do about it.

Pulling myself away from the gloom, I prepared myself from what's waiting for me inside.  All I wanted was to go in there, spend time with my friends and then go back to the hotel without problems.  In and out.  That's it.  Good thing the huge souvenir shop was near the entrance.  It was great that Rach and Rona were up for shopping more than exploring the park, so I felt a little at ease.  So inside that shop, I got my basket and I made sure I filled it up with everything my daughter would have wanted.  Medyo nag OA ako I've realized when I was paying at the counter, but I didn't really care.  All I was thinking was how her face would brighten up when she gets to open gifts on Christmas.

Scroll down for the rest of the story in photos. I wish I could say more but my stomach twisted at the memory of that day.

Disney magic on parade - Nobody does a parade like Disney.  I was totally reliving the dreams of my youth while I was standing there and watching my favorite Disney characters either walking or riding marvelous floats.  The first sound of the parade brought tears to my eyes.  I videotaped it so Kaya could watch it.  It was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

The wonder that you feel in Disneyland cannot compare to anything else. Strolling inside the park is like walking through your favorite Disney movie. While I have loved Disneyland, I will have no idea how fun this place could be until I see it through Kaya’s eyes. And so I'm really looking forward to share the magic with her. We're making plans for next year and I'm hopeful it'll push through.
